Comic Strips!

6th Grade, 4th Rotation

Students used a graphic organizer to plan the beginning, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution of their own original comic strip story with their own created characters. This was an on-going project that they worked on during their free time throughout the past 6 weeks.
 









 

Art History Connections!

Students researched a famous artist from history and created their own work of art that made some sort of connection to the famous artwork they chose as inspiration.

Doorway Relief Carvings

7th & 8th Grade, 2nd Semester
Completed Feb. 21st, 2017

Students studied the architecture of Greece and designed their own doorway with some Greek elements. Students explored pattern, texture, and low-relief sculpture while using tooling foil.

Students used symbols of their personality, family heritage, and culture in order to create a self-portrait silhouette.

Monochromatic Haida Paintings

7th & 8th Grade, 2nd Semester
Completed Feb. 16th, 2017

Students mixed black with one color to create three different shades and white with the same color to create three different tints in order to make a monochromatic painting. For the style of the painting, students were inspired by the art of Northwest Coastal Native Americans.
