Clay Effigy Pinch Pots

7th & 8th Grade, 1st Semester
Completed Sept. 27th, 2016

Students used the pinch technique to make a small, Sculpey clay pot or inspired by Native American effigy pots. Students then painted their pinch pots with acrylics.

Indonesian Inspired Batiks!

Students used a wax resist and watercolor technique to create an Indonesian inspired floral pattern similar to batik fabric.

Students used symbols of their personality, family heritage, and culture in order to create a self-portrait silhouette.

Monochromatic Haida Inspired Paintings

7th & 8th Grade, 1st Semester
Completed Sept. 21st, 2016

Students mixed black with one color to create three different shades and white with the same color to create three different tints in order to make a monochromatic painting. For the style of the painting, students were inspired by the art of Northwest Coastal Native Americans.
