Medieval Etchings

7th & 8th Grade, 2nd Semester
Completed Feb. 25th, 2016

Students created a medieval inspired etching using metallic scratch board and a variety of patterns and textures. Students also learned and used hatching, crosshatching, and stippling techniques for shading as well as how to create contrast in a work of art.

Georgia O'Keeffe Inspired Still Life Paintings

7th & 8th Grade, 2nd Semester
Completed Feb. 19th, 2016

Students were introduced to the flower and cow skull paintings of Georgia O'Keeffe. Students then used the watercolor techniques they learned in a previous lesson to paint their own still-life painting with the interesting juxtaposition between life and death (silk flowers and plastic Halloween skulls).
