Students used a wax resist and watercolor technique to create an Indonesian inspired flora design similar to Indonesian batik fabric.

Students used pattern, texture, and contrast to create their own individual shadow puppet using metallic etching board.

Northwest Coast Native American Inspired Monochromatic Paintings
7th & 8th Grade, 2nd Semester
Completed Feb. 23rd, 2015
Students mixed black with one color to create three different shades and white with the same color to create three different tints in order to make a monochromatic painting. For the style of the painting, students were inspired by the stylized art of the Northwest Coastal Native Americans.
