No Kid Hungry Project

7th & 8th Grade, 1st Semester

Students learned about the impacts of childhood hunger in America. Students then created a work of art that expressed a new solution to this problem or persuaded viewers to do what they can to help.

Impressionist Memory Paintings

6th Grade, 1st Quarter
Completed Sept. 8, 2014

Students chose a memory to illustrate while using perspective techniques to make their drawing seem 3-dimensional. Students then added texture and color with a unique watercolor marker and wax resist technique which accentuates the "brush strokes" like in many Impressionist paintings by Monet, Seurat, and Van Gogh.

Aborigine Inspired Paintings

7th & 8th Grade, 1st Semester
Completed Sept. 3rd, 2014

Students created their own Aborigine inspired painting using many patterns and vibrant colors.
















Aztec & Huichol Rainbow Suns

6th Grade, 1st Quarter
Competed Sept. 2nd, 2014

Students created their own sun design inspired by the art of Aztecs and Huichol tribes of Mexico. Students then used markers and rainbow colors to create a striking pattern and visual effect.
