Crazy Shaped Color Wheels!

6th Grade, 3rd Rotation

Students chose an interesting shape and drew a contour line drawing of it, then divided it into 12 sections. Students then learned to mix their own secondary and intermediate colors with only the 3 primary colors and painted in their color wheel sections in rainbow order.

Panamanian Mola Collages

7th & 8th Grade, 1st Semester

Students explored Panamanian Mola fabric art and then created their own Mola collage using 3 colors of construction paper.

M. C. Escher Inspired Tessellations

Students analyzed the art of M.C. Escher and then created their own mathematical tessellation.

Comic Strips!

6th Grade, 2nd Rotation

Students used a graphic organizer to plan the beginning, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution of their own original comic strip story with their own created characters. This was an on-going project that they worked on during their free time throughout the past 6 weeks.
