Crazy Shaped Color Wheels
6th Grade, 4th Quarter

Students chose an interesting shape and drew a contour line drawing of it, then divided it into 12 sections. Students then learned to mix their own secondary and intermediate colors with only the 3 primary colors and painted in their color wheel sections in rainbow order.

Students took the "one-liner" concept to the next level and created a 3-D wire sculpture similar to Alexander Calder's artworks.

Art History Inspired Collaborative Paintings
6th Grade, 3rd Quarter

Students worked in groups of two and chose a famous work of art from the textbook to use as inspiration for an original painting that they worked on collaboratively.
