Textured Personality Self-Portraits
7th & 8th Grade, 2nd Semester
Completed May 28th, 2015
Students learned how to draw the human face in correct proportion and observed a photograph of themselves in order to create a self-portrait. Students then used texture plates with crayons to fill their portraits with colors and patterns that reflected their personalities.

Students used images from our modern day popular culture to create an Andy Warhol inspired work of Pop Art.
Chinese Inspired Shadow Puppets
6th Grade, 4th Quarter
Completed May 19th, 2015
Students observed the intricate detail and artistic beauty of Chinese Shadow puppets for inspiration. They then used pattern, texture, and contrast to create their own individual shadow puppet using metallic etching board.
